Artist statement. (aka short note from me)
This project is important for me from a technical view. I had the idea of creating images with a projector as light source for a long time & I was super excited to build a concept around it.
Inspired by chinese characters, I chose a few phrases to project on my model's faces. The fact that beside the asian culture, the chinese characters are not well known by the majority of people, adds a anonymous character to the project – which I love.
I even scanned in my personal notes from the time I took mandarin lessons lol. So enjoy photographs that are very much on the artsy side with a personal touch by my handwriting.
